Looking for a really unique, quirky, different, and surreal travel experience? What to try something different? Want an unconventional vacation idea?

Crazy travel ideas

Located in the South of France, Cap d’Agde is a resort on the Mediterranean Sea that began as a development in the 1970s, and since then, it has grown from a sleepy town to one of the largest tourist retreats in the area.

Far from merely providing a haven for people who want to vacation au natural, it is a full-scale resort, with all the amenities you would expect from a good holiday resort.

Visiting the World’s Biggest Nudist Village is a truly unique experience. A surreal experience you will not forget in a hurry!

The following are 10 reasons to visit Cap d’Agde for that quirky experience this year!

1. Cap d’Agde is a Truly Unique Resort

Quite simply, you will never ever experience a vacation or holiday like this anywhere else in the world.

Depending on your viewpoint on life, you might agree that visiting a huge naturist enclave is an exciting experience.

Not only is Cap d'Agde the biggest nude resort, it also has a fantastic mile long beach.

Certainly though when you 1st arrive it can also be scary in a fun way. It takes a certain bravado to completely strip off and walk around in front of 10,000 plus other people naked.

We are conditioned to wear clothes and being stripped bare (literally) can take some getting used to. By the time you leave, you will find wearing clothes odd though!

2. You can Do Everything Naked Including Shopping

The village has hotels, restaurants, shops, nightclubs, banks, laundry facilities, hairdressers, saunas, and apartments all in the one enclosed and secured resort.

You can go to the hairdressers naked (you need a towel to sit on though for hygiene reasons). Likewise, you can visit the supermarket nude, as most people do.

In addition, it has a beach, marina, and a campsite which can accommodate up to two thousand people.

Guests can spend their entire stay there, never having to set foot off the resort or wear clothing.

How wonderful it is to go to a vacation or holiday spot located in one of the most enviable places in the world and not have to worry about wardrobe.

3. The Climate in the South of France

During the months of June through September, the weather tends to be very warm and sunny and unless you get really unlucky, you can expect to experience some great weather during your stay.

The summer climate is certainly of the benefits of a holiday in Agde.

So in addition to being a really truly unique and quirky resort, it is also a great location in terms of summer sunshine and long sandy beach.

4. The Resort Caters for and is Suitable for All Interest Groups

Within the naturist resort, all groups and interest groups are catered for and this makes for a great resort and atmosphere.

If you are gay, into the swinging lifestyle, or just enjoy a beach holiday without having to worry about swimwear, the resort.

The great thing about this resort is that it is a melting pot of nationalities, ages, and interests. It is truly a unique place!

5. Eating and Drinking in the Open Air by the Beach and Naked

It is great to be able to eat on the beach with food served to your sun lounger or to enjoy a meal literally meters from the beach whilst enjoying seafood and nice French wine.

Try a restaurant such as Le Mississippi Restaurant which is at the end of the Port Nature block and next to Johnny Wokkers bar (both are next to the beach). Also, try Le Calypso for a nice meal.

6. Great Nightlife

Cap d’Agde has a fabulous nightlife and in large part, the resort is famous for its night scene.

There are several nightclubs, bars, and restaurants within the resort and these facilities also attract locals on Friday and Saturday nights, who visit for the nightlife.

7. Body Freedom

Apart from being an experience and resort that simply must be on your bucket list, Cap d’Agde is a fantastic resort for body confidence.

We are bombarded these days with media projecting certain body images that we are meant to be.

The reality though is that we are all a vast variety of shapes, sizes, ages, colors, heights, and so on.

In other words, we are all different and all beautiful for being different.

What many people find, after visiting the resort, is that after a few days of experiencing total body freedom through being nude, they have a new deep sense of self.
