My wife and I spent a week in the naturist resort in Cap d’Agde and it certainly felt like one of the most surreal weeks we had ever experienced.

The nudist city in France

Driving to Cap d’Agde and Entering the Resort

We started off by renting a car in Nice (not the closest airport) because in total we were spending 4 weeks in the South of France.

Driving in France is very fairly easy from the start, with the roads excellent and well-marked, and hiring a car is certainly a great option.

We arrived in the resort by first registering at the front office which is right next to the front gate as you approach by road.

You have to register in the office in the clothed (textile) side before you can enter the resort itself.

After registration was all sorted, we drove into the village and found our allocated parking spot.

Then, once checked in with the rental agency and getting shown to our apartment, we then decided to head out to buy some groceries.

Local club called Le Tantra in the resort

Deciding to bite the bullet, I decided to remove my clothes right away, much to the dismay of my wife, who was still taking in the whole scenario.

I proceeded into the shopping mall, my wife following beside me and a textiler.

We entered the grocery store, and I was one of the many totally clothes-free people.

The only fully clothed people were the check-out persons and my wife.

We went from store to store making our selections for our week’s stay.

Accommodation and Getting Settled in Cap d’Adge

Our condo had a spacious balcony where we enjoyed most of our meals during our stay in the resort village.

The downside was that the condo was poorly equipped. What was there was in poor, worn-out condition.

The furniture was well-used. I called for replacements for missing items, and the front desk responded in a timely fashion.

For a thousand dollars for the week, we expected something a little better. Otherwise, the condo was convenient.

Each morning I walked with nothing but a smile on my face to the bakery for fresh baguettes.

The lovely smell of the French bakery is one I still remember. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony covered by a roll-out awning.

The balcony was absolutely delightful. We could easily watch the other naturists going about their daily business down below.

Cap d’Agde Beach Experience

The beach, absolutely beautiful, was within an easy walk. On the beach, we rented loungers (with an umbrella) for an acceptable price.

Our stay was only marred by a traditional three-day wind called the ‘Mistral’.

The wind was so strong that the wind whipped the sand on the beach. The beach was empty. This did not deter us.

We found pleasure on the Roman canal outside Cap d’Agde. A day’s cruise on the canal lessened our dismay of not being on the beach.

The good beach days were beyond good, they were superb. We toasted in the sun, read, and sipped drinks delivered to us.

We took long walks along the beach. A day on the beach was concluded by a stop for cocktails at the beach bar, where we relaxed as we watched the sun go below the horizon.

From happy hour we strolled to nearby restaurants for dinner. We sipped wine and enjoyed tasty French cuisine. The variety of restaurants and bars is unlimited.

Each day we found reasons to go shopping.

Shopping without clothes was new for us, but we thoroughly enjoyed the exposure.

The pastry and butcher shops offered unbelievably enticing food and meat. The variety of food encouraged us to prepare meals in the condo.

We are not real party poppers so we did not partake of the discos which begin very late.

The people at the late-night spots were casually dressed and very young for the most part.

There are clubs for all lifestyles. Would we return?

You bet we would. It was a great week. Report submitted by: Brad (a regular visitor to Cap d’Agde village).
