Cap d’Agde is the world’s biggest and most popular naturist resort and there is a reason why people flock to this resort from countries across the world. So why is this resort so popular? Let me give you 10 reasons below.

Why visit Cap d'Agde naturist resort

1. You Do Not Need to Pack Hardly Any Clothes

The village gives you the chance to not have to worry about what swimwear you pack because you will not need any at all!

If you wish to, you can stay clothes-free for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, within the naturist resort.

Everything you need to survive is sold or provided within the resort, so there really is no need to leave the resort during your stay, unless you wish to visit local attractions.

In the evenings many people dress up in all kinds of exotic, revealing, and quite interesting outfits and this for many is a fun part of a visit to this village resort.

2. Lively and Everything You Need in one Place

This is one of the best resorts in the world for a clothes-free holiday given the sheer size of the enclosed resort and the wide variety of restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, and other facilities all in this one place.

The naturist resort is lively and the atmosphere good so if you enjoy being a part of a lively and buoyant resort, Cap d’Agde might be perfect.

You can also find peace at the resort if you wish for it, particularly by choosing to stay at the campsite.

Many people visit the village though for its vibrancy and its fun aspect.

The choice is really yours regards how busy or quiet you like your holiday to be. Just choose your accommodation type accordingly in the resort.

So if you want a quieter true naturist experience then the campsite is definitely the best option.

If you prefer being busy and a little wilder, then staying in an apartment in the Port Nature building might be your best option.

3. Nightlife and Enjoying the Evenings on Cap d’Agde

Within the resort, there are several nightclubs, saunas, bars, and restaurants.

Everything is self-contained and this certainly makes life easy. For drinking there are a dozen-plus bars and several clubs, thus you will have no problem at all finding somewhere to drink.

If you want to experience nightlife but in the daytime then make sure to attend one of the foam parties, which are popular and take place parallel to the beach in the busiest months.

If you are staying in the resort you can walk to every bar and nightclub within 10 minutes i.e. there is no need for a taxi or for the use of any transportation, which makes everything quite easy.

4. Weather in Cap d’Agde

Cap d’Agde which is based in the South of France, has some excellent weather in the summer months.

The sunshine is not guaranteed but you can generally expect very good weather in the region in June, July, August, and often, September.

Temperatures in August tend to be close to 30 Celsius. If you prefer cooler but warm weather, the months of May and September can be good, although the resort tends to be a little quieter. (see more on when to visit the village).

5. A World-Class Campsite

The resort has an excellent campsite and is as good as any in my view, in France.

The site is affordable, runs parallel to the lovely beach, and is within the resort thus you have excellent access to a number of facilities.

The camp area has its own security and is a relatively safe place to stay and the area is continually being developed by the owners, Rene Oltra. (Info on booking a camp spot).

6. Cap d’Agde Naturist Beach

The beach in the resort is excellent and at approximately one and a half miles long and with a wide sandy area to walk and sunbathe on, this area has a fine beach.

In keeping with the beaches you expect to see on the south coast of France, the beach in the resort is as one would expect.

The one key difference from all of the other beaches spread along the south coast of France is that on Cap d’Agde beach, you can expect to see thousands of naked bodies lining the beach.

It’s is a surreal experience and view and something you have to add to your bucket list!

7. Some Great Local Attractions

The town of Agde itself is worth visiting as it Sete, nearby.

You have Aqualand near to the resort and the Marina in Agde is a popular place if you wish to go outside of the resort for half a day.

A lot of visitors to the resort fail to appreciate what is outside of the main gates (given that you have everything you need inside the village) but the main marina (not the small marina in the naturist village) is a very popular area with locals and tourists to the area and is home to some fine restaurants and bars.

The local region is also dotted with vineyards and many of which offer wine tastings and wine tours.

One of the best attractions in my view and certainly worth considering is the Noilly Prat tour. This vermouth drink is made here and the tour is excellent and the location is just a few miles away in the next town, of Sete.

8. Great Food and Drink

There are some excellent wines in France and when staying in the naturist resort in Agde, you will have plenty of time to try a variety of French wines.

There are some great wines grown in and around the Languedoc region and wine tends to be very cheap to drink in France (often cheaper than beer).

Inside the resort make sure to try the fresh mussels and other seafood options.

If you are not a great fan of sea food, you can also try the French desserts including the local ice cream and pastries.

9. Naturism

Naturism is fun and Cap d’Agde offers you the chance to have the perfect naturist holiday with its beach, nightlife, facilities, and accommodation.

If you want to spend your holiday and time on the beach wearing a bikini or swimwear, this may not be the resort for you.

The French are much less conservative than people in some countries worldwide and this makes a resort such as Cap possible.

10. France Itself

Visiting France is worth experiencing at least once and you could combine a trip to Agde with Paris or a number of other excellent locations within France.

You will also have the chance to improve your French.

If you have a love of good food, fine wines, great summer weather and enjoy shedding your clothes, join us all down in Cap.
