Resort etiquette in the naturist village.

General Rules

Once you are inside the resort, you will have certain rules to follow. Some of these rules are unspoken but generally accepted rules by everyone and some others are local laws, so be careful about breaking them:

Dress Code in The Naturist Village

Clothing is optional within the resort but of course, it is a resort designed for people to shed their clothes and holiday as nature intended.

There is always an ongoing debate each year about the percentage of people who are dressed and only strip off when they reach the beach.

In keeping with the intention to maintain Cap d’Agde as a naturist resort, it is preferable to try and avoid using it as a textile resort unless you really have to.

Everyone accepts that if it is your first visit then you might need an hour or two to gather some bravado and going for your first walk around the resort as a textiler is okay of course, but try to get into the spirit of the resort and why you chose to come here.

Our advice is to try and embrace the naturist culture and shed those clothes during the day-times when it is warm.

In the evening it is natural that some clothes are needed particularly because the temperature can drop in Agde quite a bit late in the evenings including in the summertime

Photos and Photography in the Resort

Taking photos and video of other people on the resort is strictly advised against and if you are caught doing this, expect other holidaymakers to get quite angry.

There is an unspoken rule that you do not photograph other people in the resort. Taking pictures of your partner or your own group is considered acceptable

General Behaviour

There are also several laws banning any sort of lewd or crude behaviour in the naturist quarter.

The best approach is a common-sense approach. Cap d’Agde is unique so there are opportunities to enjoy entertainment in one area of the beach or by visiting the foam parties or pool parties.

General drunken behaviour is extremely rare to see in this resort. In this respect, it is generally much safer and calmer than many holiday resorts.

Hygiene

It is expected that you place a towel or something similar to sit on if you take a seat in a bar or restaurant with a bare bottom.

This is for hygiene and is the rule that everyone always follows. Hygiene is taken seriously.

If you do not have a towel with you then sit on your sarong if you have one if in a bar or restaurant.

Approaching and meeting Others at Cap

It is natural on holiday to want to meet and mix with new people.

The general rule in a resort such as Cap is similar to any holiday resort in that taking care to be respectful of others if the essence of helping to keep Cap the resort it is and which is enjoyed by thousands each year.

A great way also to meet others is to join our annual 1st Time Visitors Trips.

Access to the Resort

Access to the resort is for workers or for naturists staying here.

You can normally though access on a day pass and to do this, you need to pay at the front office by the main resort entrance.
