Euro Disney in Paris France

Disneyland Paris is a popular family resort on the outskirts of Paris which is part of the famous Disney empire.

The resort is one of the most popular in Europe with people travelling from far and wide to enjoy the sights and sounds. Below are 5 of the best features of the resort which keep people coming back.

The Theme parks

When one thinks of Disneyland Paris something that comes to mind instantly is theme parks. There are two at Disneyland Paris which both have a range of rides, games and attractions.

The rollercoasters, in particular, are popular, although there is also plenty for kids to do.

Euro Disney Accommodation

There are currently 8 hotels within the resort, meaning that you can stay right in amongst the action.

These hotels range in price and quality, but all add to the experience. There are plans in place to develop a number of more hotels in and around the resort.

Radisson Blu Hotel (Disneyland Paris) (Allée De La Mare Houleuse) The Radisson as a popular brand and with a branch in EuroDisney, is a safe option for those of you who like to know what you are getting.

You cannot go too far wrong with this option it is a roughly 8-minute drive to the front gates of the amusement park and a free mini-bus shuttle service takes you between the hotel and the park Dream Castle Hotel at Disneyland Paris (40 Avenue de la Fosse des Pressoirs, 77700 Magny-le-Hongre, France).

This 4-star hotel is a great hotel to stay in if you are travelling with kids, with the hotel is uniquely and beautifully designed in the style of Potsdam Castle, a favourite with kids.

This hotel also has a free shuttle to the park.

The Entertainment at Euro Disney

The choice of entertainment is extensive. There are cinemas, live music shows, plays, dancing, concerts and much much more.

The kids, in particular, will be constantly entertained by seeing their favourite Disney characters walking around.

If you have the opportunity to, stay for the evening so that you can experience the quite stunning evening spectacle which usually involves a fireworks display and parade.

The Food

There are a great variety of eateries and restaurants around the resort, ranging from fast food to good quality restaurants.

There is a diverse range of places to eat within EuroDisney and these eateries are dotted around the park. Two of my favourite places to eat there are the Cowboy Cookout Barbecue and the ‘Last Chance Cafe’.

The Proximity to Paris

Disneyland Paris is only a short journey away from the centre of Paris, which makes it ideal for a day trip to enjoy the capital’s culture and many attractions.

Getting there

Disneyland Paris (Formally Euro Disney) is made up of 7 resort hotels, 2 theme parks, a railway station, a golf course, and a newly constructed town called Val d’Europe.

All this is encompassed within an area almost 5000 acres in size, in the area of Marne-la-Vallée, 30 km east of Paris.

Despite a difficult start, Disneyland Paris has become one of the biggest attractions in Europe, with over 15 million visitors each year.

There are several ways to reach the resort from Paris itself, and the mode of transport depends on the intended length of your stay at the Euro Disney Resort.

If spending just a day there then it is possible to drive by car, travelling along the A1 freeway (Porte de Bercy).

If staying for longer within the resort then there is a very good coach service and an excellent train service which takes you from the centre of Paris to the Marne La Vallee-Chessy station, 100 meters from the entrance to the resort.

There are plenty of attractions to visit within the resort, with the Indiana Jones and Space Mountain roller-coasters being particularly popular rides.

There are also a number of shows and more gentle rides and attractions for those who would prefer with Pirates of the Caribbean being a highlight.

These are at the main theme park, Disneyland Park Paris, with the Disney castle looking over it. If you have time, however, you should take the time to visit the resort’s second park as this too has much to offer.

The second park is called Walt Disney Studios and is also the Disney Village, a district containing a variety of shops, bars, entertainment and restaurants, with the Buffalo Bills Wild West dinner show incorporating both.
